Discovering Bahrain

Discovering Bahrain
Six months after our Dubai adventure, my husband and I set out to explore Bahrain, a gem in the Arabian Gulf known for its rich history, modern attractions, and warm hospitality. Bahrain offered a different kind of charm, one that was both tranquil and culturally immersive.
Arrival and First Impressions
Landing in Bahrain, we were welcomed by its relaxed and friendly vibe. The smaller scale of the island nation compared to Dubai felt refreshing, allowing us to dive into its rich cultural heritage and laid-back ambiance at our own pace.
Exploring Bahrain
1. The Bahrain Fort and Museum
Our first stop was the Bahrain Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through the ancient ruins, we marveled at the layers of history that spoke of Bahrain’s importance as a trading hub. The adjacent museum added depth to our understanding of the island’s storied past.
2. Manama Souq and Bab Al Bahrain
The bustling Manama Souq was a sensory delight. From colorful textiles to aromatic spices, the market offered a taste of traditional Bahraini culture. Bab Al Bahrain, the iconic gateway to the souq, stood as a testament to the blend of tradition and modernity.
3. The Tree of Life
A visit to the Tree of Life was a highlight of our trip. This lone tree standing in the middle of the desert is a symbol of resilience and mystery. It was a serene moment to reflect on nature’s wonders and take in the quiet beauty of the surroundings.
4. Island Relaxation
We spent a day on one of Bahrain’s smaller islands, enjoying the calm waters and peaceful atmosphere. It was a perfect way to relax and connect with each other amidst the natural beauty of the Gulf.
Culinary Adventures
Bahrain’s cuisine was a revelation. From savoring machboos, a traditional rice dish, to enjoying fresh seafood by the sea, every meal was a celebration of local flavors. We especially enjoyed dining at restaurants that offered panoramic views of the city and coastline.
Reflections and Takeaways
Our trip to Bahrain was a beautiful complement to our Dubai experience. It offered us a chance to slow down, immerse ourselves in history, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. The warmth of the people and the charm of the culture left a lasting impression on our hearts.
Final Thoughts
Traveling with my husband has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Each destination we visit adds a new layer to our shared experiences and strengthens our bond. Dubai dazzled us with its grandeur and innovation, while Bahrain captivated us with its history and tranquility. Both journeys were unique in their own way, and I can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us.

Discovering Dubai: A Memorable Journey with My Husband
After the serenity of our Umrah journey, my husband and I decided to explore the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Dubai. It was a perfect choice for a mix of relaxation, adventure, and unforgettable experiences.
The Decision to Visit Dubai
Dubai had always fascinated me with its towering skyscrapers, luxurious lifestyle, and cultural richness. When we planned this trip, I was excited about the opportunity to explore a city that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity. My husband and I wanted a destination that offered both relaxation and excitement, and Dubai fit the bill perfectly.
Arrival and First Impressions
From the moment we landed at Dubai International Airport, we were struck by the city’s grandeur and efficiency. The skyline, dotted with iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, was breathtaking. Our hotel, nestled near the Marina, offered stunning views and impeccable hospitality that set the tone for the rest of our trip.
Exploring the City
1. Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall
Our first stop was the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Standing on the observation deck, we were awestruck by the panoramic views of the city. It was a surreal experience to see the desert meet the sea from such a height. Afterward, we explored the Dubai Mall, indulging in shopping, dining, and even visiting the mesmerizing Dubai Aquarium.
2. Desert Safari Adventure
One of the highlights of our trip was the desert safari. From dune bashing to camel rides and a traditional Bedouin camp experience, the evening was filled with excitement and cultural immersion. Watching the sunset over the golden sands while sharing the moment with my husband was truly magical.
3. Old Dubai and the Creek
To connect with the city’s heritage, we visited the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood and took an abra ride across Dubai Creek. The contrast between the bustling souks and the serene creek offered a glimpse into Dubai’s rich history and traditions. We even brought home some beautiful spices and souvenirs from the markets.
4. Beaches and Relaxation
Dubai’s pristine beaches provided the perfect setting to unwind. We spent a leisurely day at Jumeirah Beach, enjoying the sun, sea, and each other’s company. The luxurious atmosphere and crystal-clear waters made it a day to remember.
Culinary Delights
Dubai’s food scene is as diverse as its culture. From lavish dinners at rooftop restaurants to savoring authentic Emirati dishes, every meal was a delight. One evening, we dined at a restaurant overlooking the Dubai Fountain, watching the captivating water show while enjoying exquisite cuisine.
Reflections and Takeaways
Our trip to Dubai was more than just a vacation; it was an opportunity to create lasting memories and strengthen our bond. The city’s blend of modernity and tradition provided a unique experience that catered to both our adventurous spirits and our desire for relaxation.
This journey reminded us of the importance of taking time to explore and appreciate the world together. It also deepened our gratitude for the opportunities we’ve been blessed with, allowing us to experience the beauty and diversity of Allah’s creation.
Final Thoughts
Dubai proved to be the perfect destination for us as a couple. Its vibrant energy, cultural richness, and stunning landscapes made every moment special. For anyone looking to blend adventure with luxury, Dubai is a destination that won’t disappoint. I’m already looking forward to our next trip, wherever that may be, as long as it’s with my husband by my side.

A Blessed Journey: My First Umrah with My Husband
After our marriage, my husband and I embarked on a journey that was not only deeply spiritual but also profoundly meaningful—our first Umrah together. It was a voyage of faith, love, and gratitude that strengthened our bond as a couple and brought us closer to our Creator.
The Decision to Go
Performing Umrah had always been a dream of mine, a cherished goal I hoped to fulfill someday. When my husband suggested we undertake this sacred journey together soon after our wedding, my heart swelled with joy. It felt like the perfect way to start our new life together, seeking blessings and guidance from Allah.
The preparations began with a mix of excitement and reverence. From learning the rituals of Umrah to ensuring we packed modest and comfortable clothing, every step was filled with anticipation. We also took time to study the history and significance of the holy sites we were about to visit, which deepened our connection to this journey.
The Journey to the Holy Land
The moment our flight landed in Jeddah, I felt an overwhelming sense of humility and gratitude. The air felt different, almost as if it carried the prayers and hopes of millions who had visited before us. As we made our way to Makkah, I couldn’t help but marvel at how Allah had blessed us with this opportunity.
Seeing the Kaaba for the first time is an indescribable experience. As we entered Masjid al-Haram and caught sight of it, tears streamed down my face. Standing beside my husband, hand in hand, I silently thanked Allah for granting us this moment together. It was as if all the worries of the world melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of peace.
Performing the Rituals
Together, we performed the tawaf, circling the Kaaba seven times while reciting prayers. Each step felt like a renewal of faith and a testament to our commitment to Allah and to each other. During the sa’ee—walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah—I reflected on the strength and perseverance of Hajar (peace be upon her), a reminder of the unwavering trust we should have in Allah’s plan.
One of the most poignant moments was drinking Zamzam water together and making heartfelt duas. In those moments, we prayed not just for ourselves but for our families, our future, and for the well-being of the Ummah. Sharing this sacred act with my husband felt like a beautiful manifestation of our shared faith and goals.
Lessons and Reflections
Our Umrah journey taught us invaluable lessons that will stay with us for a lifetime. It reminded us of the transient nature of this world and the importance of focusing on what truly matters: our relationship with Allah, our acts of worship, and the love and support we give to one another.
This experience also deepened our understanding of gratitude. From the countless blessings we often overlook to the privilege of standing in one of the holiest places on Earth, we realized how much we have to be thankful for. It reinforced our resolve to live a life guided by faith, humility, and compassion.
Moving Forward
Returning home, we carried with us not just memories but also a renewed sense of purpose. Our Umrah journey was a reminder that marriage is not just a partnership in this world but also a means to help each other attain Jannah. We are more committed than ever to supporting each other in our faith and striving to build a home filled with love, prayer, and the remembrance of Allah.
Performing Umrah with my husband was a transformative experience—one that will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was a journey that marked the beginning of our life together, not just as husband and wife but as companions striving for Allah’s pleasure. For anyone considering Umrah with their spouse, I can only say this: it is a journey that will bring you closer to your Creator and to each other in ways you cannot imagine.

My First Hajj: A Soulful Journey with My Parents and Sister
There are moments in life that leave an everlasting imprint on our hearts, and my first Hajj in 2015 with my beloved parents and sister is one such cherished memory. It was not just a pilgrimage; it was a journey of faith, love, and spiritual transformation—one that becomes even more emotional now that my parents are no longer with me.
The Blessing of Performing Hajj as a Family
Embarking on Hajj with my parents and sister was an unparalleled blessing. From the moment we set foot in the holy land, there was a sense of serenity and purpose that words can hardly describe. Walking side by side with my father and mother, feeling their presence in every supplication, and seeing their eyes glisten with devotion was something I will always hold close to my heart.
The Magnificence of Arafat and the Power of Dua
The Day of Arafat was the pinnacle of our Hajj journey. Standing on the blessed plains, raising our hands in supplication, and seeking forgiveness was a moment of profound humility and reflection. I remember my father’s trembling voice as he made dua for our family, and my mother’s quiet tears as she poured her heart out to Allah. In that moment, nothing else in the world mattered—just our souls seeking His mercy.
Eid-ul-Adha: A Celebration of Faith and Sacrifice
Eid-ul-Adha was unlike any other Eid we had celebrated before. After completing the rites of Hajj, there was an overwhelming sense of gratitude and submission. The act of sacrifice reminded us of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) devotion, and we felt honored to partake in the sacred tradition. Sharing this day with my parents and sister made it even more special. We hugged each other, thankful for the journey we had undertaken together.
A Memory That Grows More Precious with Time
Now that my parents are no longer with me, this memory has become even more emotional. I often close my eyes and relive those moments—their warm smiles, their whispered duas, their hands holding mine as we circumambulated the Kaaba. Hajj with them was a gift, a treasure that I will carry in my heart forever.
Every time I hear the talbiyah, my heart aches with longing. But amidst the sorrow, there is also peace in knowing that we shared such a sacred journey together. I pray that Allah grants them the highest ranks in Jannah and reunites us once again in His eternal mercy.
For those who still have their parents with them, cherish every moment. If you ever get the chance to perform Hajj with them, do so without hesitation. The memories you create will be the most beautiful, soulful, and everlasting treasures of your life.

My First Umrah in 2012: A Ramadan to Remember
In 2012, I was blessed with the opportunity to perform my first Umrah with my parents during the holy month of Ramadan. The journey was not just a physical pilgrimage but a deeply spiritual experience that left an indelible mark on my heart. Spending the last ten nights of Ramadan, the sacred Taaq Raat, and celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah was a dream come true.
Arriving in the Holy Land
The moment we landed in Jeddah, a wave of emotions swept over me. There was a mix of excitement, gratitude, and awe. As we made our way to Makkah, the sight of the Holy Kaaba for the first time is something I will never forget. Seeing it in person, standing in its presence, I felt a sense of peace and connection unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
Performing Umrah
Performing Umrah with my parents was a profound experience. From the Tawaf around the Kaaba to the Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, every step felt like a renewal of faith. The exhaustion of travel melted away in the face of the overwhelming spirituality of the place. Praying in the Haram, amidst thousands of believers from around the world, made me realize the true essence of unity in Islam.
The Last Ten Nights: Taaq Raat in Makkah
The last ten nights of Ramadan, known as the Taaq Raat, hold immense significance, and experiencing them in Makkah was extraordinary. The Haram would fill with worshippers, all seeking Laylat-ul-Qadr, the Night of Power. The air was heavy with devotion, and the sight of people engaged in prayer, recitation, and supplication was deeply moving. Spending these nights in worship with my parents beside me was a privilege I will always cherish.
A Visit to Madinah
After completing our Umrah, we traveled to Madinah, the city of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The tranquility of Masjid-e-Nabawi was a stark contrast to the intensity of Makkah. Praying in Riyadh-ul-Jannah, visiting the Rawdah Mubarak, and walking the same streets where the Prophet once walked filled my heart with serenity and love for Islam.
Eid-ul-Fitr in the Holy Land
Celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr in Makkah was an experience beyond words. The joy of completing Ramadan in the holiest of places, combined with the collective euphoria of millions of Muslims, made this Eid incredibly special. The morning prayers in the Haram, the heartfelt embraces of fellow believers, and the overwhelming sense of gratitude made this Eid one I will never forget.
A Journey That Changed Me
Looking back, my first Umrah in 2012 was more than just a pilgrimage; it was a turning point in my spiritual journey. Sharing these moments with my parents made it even more meaningful. The lessons of patience, humility, and devotion that I learned continue to guide me in my life today.
May Allah grant every believer the opportunity to visit His sacred house and experience the blessings of Umrah and Ramadan in the holy cities. Ameen.
